Can I mix colours?
Most people have more than one colour in their hair. Blending several colours gives you a more natural look. This is also a great way to create natural looking highlights.
Can I use extensions to add texture or colour to my hair?
Absolutely! Extensions are a great way to experiment with colour or texture without chemically treating your own natural hair!
Will extension damage my hair?
Extensions should not damage your hair if properly cared for and maintained.
It is very important to have an expert do your hair extensions and that they thoroughly explain how to maintain your style for optimum healthy hair.
How much hair do I need?
Everyone has a different head shape and size along with different hair texture. This will often dictate how much hair is required. No 2 heads are the same.
How long do extensions last?
Quality hair extensions can last up to 2 years. If they are not lasting that long then there is likely to be a problem in the installation or the daily maintenance program.
How long should commercial hair extensions be worn over time?
If genuine care is taken with your Wonder Weave with proper daily maintenance and professional maintenance, Wonder Weaves can be worn indefinitely. You have to have healthy natural hair to attach hair extensions to.
What is tightening?
Tightening is when the hair extensions are removed and then put back in.
Due to hair growth and daily maintenance, your hair extensions will loosen from your scalp and will need to be tightened. Often hair tightening works in conjunction with the client’s hair growth cycle.
So expect tightening between 4– 6 weeks.
What type of products should I use?
Moisture is the most important thing. Please do not use products for oily hair or strippers that take out chlorine or product build up. These leave the hair dry. Use styling products that are zero or low alcohol. Products for dry hair are the best. Spray in conditioners and glossifiers are wonderful for the ends. We recommend the Beauty Works Aftercare Range and brushes.
Can I remove the extensions myself or have a friend do it?
We highly recommend that you book appointment with Wonder Weave. We've been trained in the art of hair extension removal to deinstall them for you. If extensions are not removed properly, damage can result to one's natural hair.
